Ginisang Munggo is a hearty soup which can be enjoyed on its own or with fluffy white jasmine rice, which is what I love. Affectionally called &#8216;Munggo&#8217; by my family, I am so happy to know that my little ones love munggo too and I hope to make it part of their childhood memories as it was part of mine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.lalaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/portrait.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-463 aligncenter\" alt=\"portrait\" src=\"http:\/\/192.168.0.14\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/portrait-680x1024.jpg\" width=\"541\" height=\"814\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prep and Cooking Time &#8211; <strong>65<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;minutes<\/strong>&nbsp;| Serves&nbsp;&#8211; <strong>4 \u2013 6 adults<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>&#8211; 1 onion<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 2 garlic cloves<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 30ml olive oil<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 300g pork belly, cut into cubes<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 200g mung beans, soaked in 600g of water overnight<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 2 tomatoes, cut into wedges<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 3 Tablespoons light soy sauce<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 1 Tablespoon Quirky Jo&#8217;s chicken stock concentrate (or 1 chicken stock cube)<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 900g water<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 60g baby spinach<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>METHOD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Place onion and garlic into TM bowl and chop&nbsp;<strong>7 sec \/ speed 3<\/strong>. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Add oil, chicken stock concentrate and pork into the TM bowl and saut\u00e9 for <strong>5 mins \/ 100<sup>o<\/sup>C&nbsp;\/&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"counter-clockwise operation\" alt=\"counter-clockwise operation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/counterclock.png\">&nbsp;\/ speed&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gentle stir setting\" alt=\"Gentle stir setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/soft.png\"><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Add mung beans, tomatoes, soy sauce and 900g of water (but no higher than the TM max fill line) and set to cook&nbsp;<strong>40 mins \/&nbsp;Varoma \/&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"counter-clockwise operation\" alt=\"counter-clockwise operation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/counterclock.png\">&nbsp;\/ speed&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gentle stir setting\" alt=\"Gentle stir setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/soft.png\">. &nbsp;<\/strong>Replace the MC with the TM basket on the top of the locked TM bowl once it starts to bubble over.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Using your TM spatula, loosen the pork from the blades. To soften the mung beans and thicken the sauce, continue cooking&nbsp;<strong>20 mins \/&nbsp;Varoma \/&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"counter-clockwise operation\" alt=\"counter-clockwise operation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/counterclock.png\">&nbsp;\/ speed&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gentle stir setting\" alt=\"Gentle stir setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/soft.png\">\/ MC off.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Place the baby spinach in the ThermoServer and pour the mungo on top. Let to sit in the ThermoServer until ready to serve.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.lalaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/landscape.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-464 aligncenter\" alt=\"landscape\" src=\"http:\/\/192.168.0.14\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/landscape-1024x680.jpg\" width=\"625\" height=\"415\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>NOTES AND VARIATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The cooking time of the mung beans will depend on how long the mung beans have been soaked; the longer it has been in water, the quicker it will take to cook. Also, how soft you want your mung beans to be will also affect time.
