While Japanese Curry is very much enjoyed by everyone in my family, making it was always such a daunting prospect as it involved some serious stove-bonding time &#8211; it traditionally takes a while to cook as you tenderise the meat and you needed to make sure that there was ample gravy so it doesn&#8217;t burn itself. Of course the Thermomix manages such daunting issues with ease so I endeavoured to adapt and convert my stove-top recipe for the Thermomix.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.lalaskitchen.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/curry.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-498 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/192.168.0.14\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/curry-680x1024.jpg\" alt=\"curry\" width=\"594\" height=\"894\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Prep and Cooking Time &#8211;\u00a0<strong>60 minutes\u00a0<\/strong>| Serves &#8211;\u00a0<strong>6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>&#8211; 1 onion, halved<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 2 cloves garlic<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 30g olive oil<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 1 Tablespoon TM Vegetable Stock Concentrate<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 500 to\u00a0600g beef, cut into small cubes<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 2 servings of Golden Curry&#8217;s Sauce Mix, broken down into small cubes<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 700ml water<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 3 to\u00a04 medium carrots, roughly chopped into small pieces<\/div>\n<div>&#8211; 3 medium to\u00a0large nadine potatoes, roughly chopped into small pieces<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>METHOD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place chopped potatoes and carrots into the Varoma bowl\u00a0ready to use. Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Add onion and garlic to the TM bowl and chop\u00a0<strong>3 sec \/ speed 7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Add oil and TM vegetable stock concentrate into the TM bowl and saut\u00e9\u00a0<strong>2 min \/\u00a0100<sup>o<\/sup>C<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>\/ speed 2.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add sauce mix cubes and beef into the TM bowl and brown\u00a0<strong>3 min \/\u00a0100oC\u00a0\/\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"counter-clockwise operation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/counterclock.png\" alt=\"counter-clockwise operation\" \/>\u00a0\/ speed<\/strong>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gentle stir setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/soft.png\" alt=\"Gentle stir setting\" \/>.<\/p>\n<p>Add water into the TM bowl then remove MC and place the prepared Varoma bowl on top.\u00a0Cook\u00a0<strong>30 min \/\u00a0Varoma \/\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"counter-clockwise operation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/counterclock.png\" alt=\"counter-clockwise operation\" \/>\u00a0\/ speed\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gentle stir setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/soft.png\" alt=\"Gentle stir setting\" \/>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After 30 minutes is finished, remove the Varoma bowl and store cooked potatoes and carrots into the ThermoServer. Continue to cook the curry further &#8211; MC LID OFF\u00a0<strong>20 min \/\u00a0Varoma \/\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"counter-clockwise operation\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/counterclock.png\" alt=\"counter-clockwise operation\" \/>\u00a0\/ speed<\/strong>\u00a0<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gentle stir setting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.recipecommunity.com.au\/sites\/all\/modules\/contrib\/smileys\/packs\/thermomix\/soft.png\" alt=\"Gentle stir setting\" \/>.<\/p>\n<p>Once cooked pour\u00a0the beef and gravy from the TM bowl on top of the vegetables from the Varoma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTES AND VARIATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Below is a pictorial reference on the sauce mix I used in this recipe, which is available in the Asian section of your local major supermarket.
