Mars Bar Slice

Mars Bar Slice

Jump to Recipe

A colleague’s partner introduced me to this tasty and very more-ish dessert. In searching for the recipe, I envisioned it would be quite difficult to make but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was very wrong.  This Mars Bar Slice is so easy to make. requires few ingredients and could be prepared in advanced for any occasion. For me, I love this slice best with my afternoon cuppa tea.

Mars Bar Slice

INGREDIENTS

– 50g butter
– 1 Tablespoon golden syrup
– 4x 53g Mars Bars, finely chopped (standard chocolate bar size)
– 3 cups (60g) rice bubbles
– 200g milk chocolate (I come half dark and half milk chocolate)
– 200g copha

METHOD

Step 1. Grease and line the base and side of a slice pan with baking paper with extra paper hanging over the edges.

01

Step 2. Place rice bubbles in a mixing bowl in preparation.

02

Step 3. Combine butter, golden syrup and Mars Bars in a medium saucepan over low heat. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon until everything is melted and is a smooth mixture. Remove from heat.

03

Step 4. Add the Mars Bar mixture and stir until well combined.

04

Step 5. Spoon the Mars Bar and rice bubble mixture into the prepared pan. Spread the mixture to cover the slice pan and smooth the surface using the back of a spoon or ladle. Place the slice tray in the fridge for 1 hour to cool completely.

05

Step 6. Place the chocolate and copha in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan half-filled with simmering water. Stir until the chocolate melts.

06

Step 7. Take out the cooled slice tray from the fridge.  Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the top of the slice ensuring it is evenly spread. Set in the fridge again for 30 minutes for the chocolate to set before cutting into squares to serve.
