Jazz High Tea at The George

Jazz High Tea at The George

Jump to Recipe

The huz and I have always talked about going on a date night to the Ellington Jazz Club. I’ve not really gone out of my way to listen to jazz as I’m more of a pop or R&B girl so I have no idea what’s sparked my sudden interest in wanting to be exposed to the jazz scene; maturity with an evolving taste in music perhaps? Who knows! However as any parent knows, it can be really hard to get those date nights organised. So when my girlfriend organised a catch up, I was delighted to hear we’d not only be doing so over high tea at such a lovely establishment such as The George, but we’d also be enjoying the sweet sound of jazz music. My jazz music cherry is about to be popped!

As part of the Perth International Jazz Festival, The George had organised songstress Catherine Summers to perform for patrons who dined for high tea. It was a lovely introduction to jazz music for me as she was so personable and really engaged the diners. The amazing company and the delicious food certainly helped too. I have been to The George for high tea a few times and while I have enjoyed every visit, the jazz performance really elevated the experience by setting a cool, chilled atmosphere.

As for the food, lovely as always. I normally rely on the website’s menu for dish specifics however The George change their high tea menu so regularly, it would be challenging to continually update the menu and so I’ve tried my best to remember what we enjoyed on the day.Regardless of what they serve, The George always delivers. See for yourself here 🙂
