Brunch at Mrs. S Cafe
Being a ‘Southie’ (a South of the River resident) I rarely venture past the Swan River. It’s not by choice either – I just don’t really travel that way for anything except for friends. So when I do have to catch up with my ‘Northie’ friends, I always rely on them to recommend a good place to eat. On this occasion, a catch up was organised at a gorgeous little corner cafe in Maylands called Mrs. S.
Mrs S. has a delightfully quirky personality for a cafe and they make the most delicious meals; plated simply but cooked really well. While Mrs. S is better known for their breakfast offerings, my girlfriend and I were keen to try dishes from their “From 11.30am” menu.
I couldn’t really fault this place aside from the size of the cafe inside; it is a tad cozy and I don’t think it’s very pram friendly (unless you’re eating outside of the cafe watching the world go by). Having said this, I believe this is intentional and is the reason why it’s so intimate and cozy.
I really should make the effort to try out the food establishments North of the River, especially if they’re anything like Mrs. S. I definitely want to come back and try out the breakfast range with the family in tow.
