Re-Living Our Childhood at Nostalgia Box

Re-Living Our Childhood at Nostalgia Box

Jump to Recipe

One of my fondest childhood memories is playing video games with my siblings and friends. At almost every family function held at a house, all the kids would be huddled around a small TV, playing Nintendo until the early hours of the morning trying to get through all the levels. I recall the frustration of having to blow the dust (or whatever it was) out of the cartridges so that it could work on the gaming console.

Through Facebook advertising, my husband and I discovered this little gem in the city that enabled us to re-visit those times and even gives our boys the opportunity to re-live it with us! Nostalgia Box is an interactive video gaming museum. You can not only see the evolution of video gaming consoles, but you can actually play some of them!

While playing the consoles are a favourite of my boys, easily spending hours trying all the old school games, my favourite section is the shop. The museum stocks gaming memorbelia and items that you can take home. For this particular food blogging mum, I love picking up the gaming themed cookie cutters and moulds (you remember the Pac Mac cookie cutters I made and posted on my Facebook page).

If you’re ever in Perth (near Central TAFE) and have a free hour or two, this place is worth a visit. Entry prices can be found in the first picture below.

The Nostalgia Box is located at Shop 3, 16 Aberdeen Street Perth (ph. (08) 9227-7377). You can check out their website or follow them on Facebook.

Price list can be found on the blue sign just below the desk.

Walk through the museum and check out the history of gaming consoles.

Take a seat and take a trip down memory lane playing some of the consoles. Or if you’re game enough, try and feature at the museum’s high score leader board.

My favourite part of the museum – the shop!

You can even enjoy a beverage during your visit
